Linen Embroidered Pillow Ukraine (20x20)

Hand embroidered natural linen pillow from Ukraine. In this pair of "whitework" pillows, white thread is employed with different embroidery techniques, producing a three-dimensional light and shadow effect with shades ranging from snow white to dark gray.  While the whitework embroidery of Central Ukraine (Poltava region) is well-known throughout the world, that of my native Pokuttya region has not been fully researched.

Lesia Pona Embroidery

Lesia Pona learned embroidery from her mother and went on to study at Lviv Academy of Arts. A mentorship with a Ukrainian master embroiderer solidified her commitment to her craft and her passion grew.
