Kantha Stitched Forest Prantik Scarf India

This extraordinary scarf is entirely hand embroidered on silk by rural artisans in Bengal, India. Fair trade. The lively colors shimmer and catch the light. The silk is block printed that is then covered with vey fine hand embroidered patterns. Each end has a striped end border. A single scarf approximately has a quarter of  a million stitches that requires a minimum of 200 (wo)man-hours to make.
