Handwoven Jamdani Khadi Cotton Tree Scarf India
Handwoven Jamdani scarf in 100% hand-spun cotton and dyed in natural dyes by artisans in Bengal, India.
Jamdani weaving is labor intensive and a symbol of identity and dignity and is so important to the Bengali culture that it’s been placed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. Master weavers work in additional weft threads to create the striped and blocky patterns.
This light-weight cotton scarf has a beautiful soft ‘hand’ and a luxurious drape; it represents some of the finest hand weaving we are privileged to represent.
The design is a beautiful play on the tree of life with a large tree on one end of the scarf and cows next to it, as well as cows and vegetation on the other end of the scarf. There is also a beautiful geometric metallic pattern running on both edges of the scarf as well sa both ends.
Approx 23" x 78" with 3" twisted tassels on each end.
