Handwoven Akhnif style Tapestry with knots and chewdi tirira. Rug is 100% wool with hand spun yarn and natural dyes from a women's association in the high Atlas Mountains of Morocco. There is a braided fringe at one end. This rug is beautiful on the floor or on the wall.

Timnay - Weaving Association in Southern Morocco

For almost a decade, we have been sourcing a variety of rugs from our dear friends at the Weaving Association in Southern Morocco, also know as the Timnay Traditional Carpets Cooperative. This group is more than a cooperative, it's a story woven by women who carry their heritage in every thread - each reflects culture, tradition, and passion. Over the years, we have really enjoyed our relationship with this association, allowing us to work directly with them on various styles of rugs and seeing them come to life as the artisans (mostly women) weave through each piece. From tapestry-style rugs, to Boucherouite, and map rugs - here’s a little more about some of their fabulous techniques that we keep falling in love with.
