Handmade Kudzu Vine Mesh Black Bag Laos

Handcrafted by Mrs. Ven in Ban Maang, Laos, this unique beach or market bag is a truly natural and sustainable product, made from 100% piet jungle vines that grow wildly in northern Laos without any cultivation, irrigation, or chemicals, making it eco-friendly, zero waste, organic, vegan, plastic-free, and chemical-free. Traditionally used by Khummu communities for straps, belts, and bags, the vine is soaked and softened for a comfortable feel, resulting in a strong, compact, and lightweight bag.

Due to its handmade nature, each bag is unique and may vary slightly.

Tikkiwallah is a designer led artisan and textile craft studio based in based in Chiang Mai and Luang Prabang, works with artisans from the Tai Lue, Hmong, Khummu, Tai Daeng, Akha, and Mlabri communities across Lao People’s Democratic Republic and Thailand. Their collaborative relationship yields textiles and products that showcase heritage skills and traditional motifs. Tikkiwallah is committed to helping create a demand for traditional fibers, such as hand spun cotton, silk, hemp, and piet jungle vine instead of cheaper machine-made processed materials and plastics.
