Handmade Beaded Corn Necklace Guatemala

Handmade beaded necklace with ears of corn. Each of the 6 ears are intricately made in different colors and each color has a meaning - white (sacred), red (sunrise), yellow (wealth), orange (the heart of the sky and earth), black (Mayan women's hair). They  even have thread for the corn silk.

We buy these directly from a Mayan woman in Santiago Atitlán who works with artisans that have been impacted by natural disasters. This necklace is often used for protection as corn is very important to the Maya people in Guatemala and throughout the Americas.
