Hand embroidered kantha silk scarf. The embroidery is stylized floral and geometric design done with an off white color fine stitching on a beautiful bright red silk. A different scale floral border with rows of straight stitching outline the main design. The silk is soft with a nice drape. This would go with everything! So beautiful, you will want to wear it every day. 

This scarf was made by a social enterprise of women in Kolkata. We met the founder when we were in India. She started the enterprise 30 years ago as a way to keep alive this kantha stitching technique. The enterprise trains and supports more than 700 women in rural Bengal. The embroidery is fine and this is truly a one-of-a kind piece.
