Embroidered pillow from a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. Hand embroidered silk on a satin-finish pinkish tan colored ground cloth. Embroidery colors: deep red, indigo blue, salmon, chalky evergreen, olive, pale green tan, creamy tan, chalky yellow and gold and more.The back is handwoven ikat dyed cotton fabric with a zipper. The back colors: cream, yellow , grey and muted burgundy. Stunning.
